How to Help a Man Love You Well

I caught my breathe walking into the living room. It was the kind of romantic setup that would make any woman swoon…

He had laid a fur blanket on the floor with pillows. Candles were lit all around. Chocolate appetizers, and wine sat on the glass table. Music was softly playing in the background. It was perfection.

But I want to be honest with you.

Especially to the woman reading this feeling that longing sensation in your gut.

I asked for this. I asked him on the date. I told him about my high expectations, and I even sent him pictures for inspiration. He didn’t come up with it all on his own.

I communicated and learned that my husband actually had some how gotten the impression that I didn’t even like to have flowers bought for me!

Whoa! It’s true that I’m not the kind of woman who Expects flowers, but I am extremely grateful when they come. Men reading this, know that every woman wants to be loved well. It may not be flowers, but what it really comes down to is being thought of. It’s being shown effort to love us.

And ladies, same goes with how your treat your man.

Ladies, too many times we secretly hope our men will randomly wake up one day and love us the way we want to be loved…

We hold resentment when our needs aren’t being met, but the thing is we don’t tell them our needs. Or we try once or twice and give up.

Even with the simplest of things like telling him to ask how your day was or kissing you when he gets home. These are super simple expectations that drive us insane.

But he really doesn’t know it’s a big deal to you! It’s your responsibility to tell him, you have to explain it to him!

And it’s okay to ask in love. (Ask, don’t demand.)

It’s okay standards in a relationship, but everyone standards are unique. So if he’s not doing this kind of thing for you, it doesn’t mean he’s not loving you or think of you, he may be doing it in other ways where you have validated that he’s doing the right thing.

Tell him what you want and what you need! Men like gentle guidance, Especially when it comes to you. Don’t be scared to help the guy out because he’s going to feel like a knight in shining armor if you just tell him which dragons need to be slayed for you.

It took me too many years to find my voice to be able to communicate my needs and desires to my husband respectfully.

It can be scary and vulnerable. And can we please talk about the fear of rejection or not being listened to! It’s a thing and those fears are valid. I’m also here to tell you that you can overcome these fears and insecurities. And when you do, it reignites the passion in your relationship!

Confidence is sexy.

And confidence not being layered with that underlying fear of rejection is even sexier. If you are a woman looking to find your voice so that you can be the best version of you and speak your desires for your relationship check out High Achievers with Hannah.

You will speak your truth all while being magnetic.

What Not to Do As A Coach

The coaching industry is booming!

It’s a super exciting world to be a part of. But also super hard to navigate as a newbie because it almost feels like there are no rules.

Anyone can be a coach. There are little to no regulations as to who can use the title coach and because of this reality the scam artists are also booming.

But thank God you are not a scam artist! If you were you wouldn’t be here trying to learn how to be an actual coach.

10 Things Not to Do As a Coach

  1. Practice Illegally

The first thing every coach need to do is be legal. Being a coach is like any other business. This means you need to form an LLC, Corporation, or DBA. The good news for you is that this process is not as intimidating as it sounds. I would strongly suggest hiring a lawyer if you are not familiar with what these entities entail or taking a course like Life Coach Business Build where you can learn the differences and choose which is right for your coaching goals.

2. NEVER Skip Contracts

Skipping contracts is a huge no, no for coaches. It’s not only unethical, it’s also a liability which may get you into legal trouble. The kinds of contracts you need vary depending on which kind of coach you are. Contracts cover a multitude of legalities from pricing, late and cancellation fees, confidentiality, rights and obligations, intellectual property rights, and disclaimers, and more. This can be a lengthy process, but it is necessary. It keeps everyone involved safe. You can see examples in Life Coach Business Build or hire a contract lawyer. The reality is having something is better than nothing.

3. Know What You are Selling

You cannot sell nothing and you cannot sell everything. What do I mean by this? Check out this post here. It’s as simple as coming up with a pitch. A pitch is a 1-3 sentence that explains what you sell in an easily digestible way.  Here’s an easy template for you to use as a coach.

“I am a ______ coach and I offer _________ which helps you ___________.”

A filled in example would look something like this:

“I am a wellness coach and I offer whole body wellness coaching which helps you meet your fitness and nutrition goals. “

4. Sell Products and Services You Don’t Know Work

Promising a client results that you aren’t sure of is wrong on so many levels. There is only one way to get past this. The answer to this problem is testing your products and services before promising that they work. The good news for you is that you can and should make money while you test your products and services. My recommendation would be to offer an Alpha, Beta, and Gamma test before selling it at full price. This gives you the grace to work out flaws while getting to know your customers’ needs. Don’t forget to let your testers find errors and give you feedback. Listen to your testers. This gives you full confidence in your products and services. Test for quality assurance, defects, system aptitude, and to make sure your clients are left with proper results.

5. Just Wing It

Every good coach has a system. It provides you with a consistency and sustainability in a market where many people don’t make it for this one reason. What is a system? It’s the roadmap that you take every customer through. Know that you can use a system to personalize an experience, in fact systems lead to higher customer retention and satisfaction because you show up the same way each time even when you don’t feel like it. A business lead by emotions instead of systems is a business being lead to burnout.

6. Treat People Like Numbers

Sending disconnected salesly messages to strangers on repeat is the absolute worst sales and marketing plan out there. Don’t fall into the trap. This is a major turn off.

The fastest way to make a sale is to be a human first. Connect with people! Have genuine conversations. Make sure they actually need your services and be willing to send them elsewhere if they are not a good fit for what you offer. Talk to the person multiple times before sharing your offer. Build trust and likability by showing up consistently and standing in your authority.

7. Working With Whoever Will Take You

Headache money is painful. It’s as simple as that.

One, the person has to need what you offer.

Two, they have to be a coachable client.

Three, they have to connect and respect you in some sort of fashion. If you are working with clients who are not these things, you are setting yourself up for reoccurring migraines. Plus it steals time away from clients who actually need and want to work with you.

8. Working for Free

You have a gift and you deserve to get paid for it. Stop taking a million calls for free. Instead set up a 30 minute chat for a low cost to make sure the client is a good fit for you. See examples here. This way you get paid and you know the client is committed. Don’t waste your time because when you get big you won’t be able to do free because you won’t have the space in your life to handle it. Heck you may not even have the time or energy now.

9. Not Getting Paid Upfront

Just no. Your time is valuable. Act like a business to get paid like a business. Having a system in place to get paid right away, saves you money, time, and migraines. Getting paid upon booking sets you up for freedom and shows your customers you are serious about your time and your work. I personally love using Square Calendar.

10. Set Yourself Up to Fail

All it takes is for one video or post to go viral and you have 500 leads in your inbox waiting to be served. If you set yourself up to be small, you won’t be able to handle it when you get big. So set yourself up to win from the beginning. Set yourself up like a business, not a one man show.

What to Know About Business Coaching

“Um what exactly is your service?” I asked her my eyebrows crinkling as I cocked my ears.
“I offer business coaching for momprenuers.”

“Okay, what exactly does that mean?” I asked.
”What struggles do you have in your business?” The happy voice asked.

I felt confused, I never mentioned having struggles in my business. I had only met this woman once so even if I had struggles I wanted to prioritize fixing, I sure as heck did not trust this woman enough to talk about it.

I gave her a fluff answer, now hoping the phone call would end. But I was also curious. She had a fancy website, a table at the conference, and seemed legit. She mentioned that she could fix any problem in my business. I asked her once more what exactly she meant by a business coach and was met with a wishy washy answer.

“How much do you charge for… this?” I asked, still having no idea what her offered service was.
“$5,000-10,000. Would you like to sign up?”

😳😳😳
No. Absolutely not.

This conversation floored me. As someone who has a background in sales I could not understand it. Why in the world would someone call to offer a $5-10k program, yet not even be able to give a description of what that program or coaching service would offer?

This was a call I received during one of my first years of running a hobby business. At that point I’ve been a business owner to multiple successful companies since and I can tell you one thing about that phone call. That she’s like hundreds if not thousands of other entrepreneurs.

She knew she had something to offer and was waiting for me to tell her what that was. Many entrepreneurs are creatives and hard workers. Those two adjectives together make one thing clear. Usually that one thing is that they can get it done! What ever it is. They have the ‘how hard could it be’ gene. And if we don’t hone in on our true talents, we try to do it all.

Now I’m not one of those coaches who believes in niches. You are a multifaceted human which means it’s okay to be multi passionate! You just have to do it right.

Stop bouncing around like a ping pong ball shouting, “Take me! I can do it!”

You HAVE to have an offer. Selling nothing can get sticky pretty fast and can lead to grand disappointment for everyone involved if you say yes to the wrong project.

Business takes planning. It takes sitting down to do the boring paperwork part that too many entrepreneurs avoid. And I get it, I’m a creative too! We want freedom, you avoided working in a corporate setting because you don’t want to be chained to a desk.

Planning you business isn’t that. Planning you business is looking at the map before you set out on the race. It’s taking the time to stretch so you don’t pull a muscle. It’s going to the store to grab water and a snack so you don’t pass out from exhaustion. It’s what it takes to reach the finish line of profit, of generational wealth, and of true freedom.

What Parents Forget

Can I be honest?
I’ve realized I have a problem.

I’ve forgotten…🥺

I forgot how much I wanted to be a mommy. I dreamed of loving and rocking them to sleep in my arms before I knew my babies.

I forgot that there was a time I prayed every night for my future husband. I wanted to stroke his hair until he fell asleep next to me. At that time it seemed so far away.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day life and forget that you are surrounded by the people you used to long for. That this nutball family was THE goal at one point!

And now they are mine.
And God thank you for making them way cooler than I expected😂

This year even when the dog is barking as my daughter is trying to climb the wall and the baby is screaming while my husband is watching TV because he’s exhausted from work when I’m cooking dinner like a maniac…

I’m going to smile and be grateful because I really would miss them if my house wasn’t this beautiful chaos. 🤪

Motherhood is Not the End of You

“Life as you know it is over.”
Someone told me after I got pregnant.

At first, I was furious. Then I was scared. 😡
I started to imagine loss. Would I ever be the things I loved after having kids…🥺😳

Sexy? Fun? Outgoing? Artistic? Goofy? Loud? Ambitious? Fearless? Spontaneous? Cute? Dorky?

I worried because in my eyes I was THESE things. And I liked being these things.🤷‍♀️

But moms? Moms were not these things. 😞🙅‍♀️

Moms are calm, organized, loving, hardworking, masterminds, conservative, and so much more… But not those things I listed above.

Thankfully, that person was so right! Life as I knew it Was over, but thank God it wasn’t in the way I expected!! 😆🙈

It’s over, as in I now have 1.567 million more loads of laundry to do 🧺🧺🧺🧺

But me?

I WASN’T OVER.

Instead of loosing me, I lost my stereotype.

I am now a Sexy, Fun, Outgoing, Artistic, Goofy, Loud, Ambitious, Fearless, Spontaneous, and Cute Mom…🤪😂

who has learned how to stay calm, be organized, be hardworking, and so much more.
