I didn't set out to teach women about money.
For years, I helped people work through the effects of trauma, reconnect with themselves, and create meaningful change in their lives.
Then something unexpected kept happening.
As my clients healed, many of them started making more money.
Not because we were talking about investing.
Not because we were building businesses.
Because something inside them had changed.
I couldn't stop asking why.
That question eventually led me to examine my own relationship with money, too.
It changed the direction of my life.
The question I couldn't stop asking.
While preparing a keynote on abundance, I realized I couldn't stop thinking about one question:
Why do so many capable women physically shut down around money?
Eventually, two words came to me:
Money. Nausea.
For the first time, I had language for something I'd been witnessing for years.
Women weren't struggling because they lacked intelligence.
Or ambition.
Or capability.
Their bodies were responding to money as though it carried something far heavier than numbers.
That question led me deeper into EMDR, somatics, the psychology of money, and the history of women and wealth.
Eventually, everything pointed to one realization: Women don't have a capability problem. They have a capacity problem.
This wasn't just research.
The more I studied women's relationship with money, the more I realized I wasn't simply collecting information.
I was recognizing patterns.
Patterns in the women I coached.
Patterns in history.
Patterns in culture.
And, eventually, patterns in my own life.
Not because my story looked like every other woman's.
But because I began to understand how deeply our relationship with money is intertwined with our relationship with ourselves.
The way we trust ourselves.
The way we receive.
The way we carry responsibility.
The way we define safety.
The way we imagine what's possible.
That's when Brave Money stopped being something I was studying.
It became the work I couldn't not do.
The women I can't stop thinking about...
I think about the woman who knows she's capable, but still feels intimidated by money.
I think about the woman who stayed longer than she wanted because she didn't have the financial freedom to leave.
I think about the mother who quietly carries everyone else's needs while stepping away from her own financial authority.
I think about the brilliant women who have mistaken inherited beliefs for personal limitations.
And I think about the girls watching them.
Because wealth isn't just about lifestyle.
It's about choice. It's about safety. It's about contribution.It's about keeping more doors open than closed.
Why women?
I chose to dedicate my work to women.
The answer didn't come from a statistic.
It came from years of coaching.
I noticed a pattern:
Many of the women I worked with delayed investing in themselves, not because they lacked desire, but because they felt responsible for everyone else first.
They weren't asking,"Can I afford this?"
They were asking,
"Is it okay for me to choose myself?"
Then I started studying the history.
I learned how often women's financial authority has been handed to someone else.
How many brilliant women have mistaken inherited beliefs for personal limitations.
And I knew something had to change.
Because as a mom of 4 daughters, I don't want my daughters or yours to inherit that same story.
I want them to inherit something better.
This is why Brave Money exists.
I believe more money in the hands of more women creates more goodness in the world.
Not because women are perfect.
But because wealth expands choice.
It expands contribution.
It expands freedom.
Every woman who builds financial authority changes more than her own life.
She changes what's possible for the people watching her. Especially the little girls.
That's why I'm here.
That's why I created Brave Money.
And that's why I'll keep having this conversation until financial authority feels as natural for women as capability already does.
I don't believe women need to become someone new to build wealth.
I believe they need to remember who they already are.
