I’m talking about the light that shines with Zero strings or guilt attached.
Did you know that security and safety can be on that list? They should be higher on your list than material wealth.
Why? Because with financial security give you the permission to fully encompass yourself in the joy that comes with physical and material wealth. All your debts are paid. Your money is completely yours.
Here’s a fun story:
Let’s say your neighbor enjoys $799 on a fancy cheese tray. In fact, He loves his cheese tray so much that he gushes about it when someone even mentions cheese.
Now this specific neighbor can afford his lovely cheese tray. All his bills are paid, he’s worked hard, lives within his means, and he chooses wisely to only indulge in things that bring him real happiness. Therefor he indulges in full guiltless enjoyment every time he eats from his cheese tray.
You tried the cheese once. It was okay, but upon hearing your neighbor rave about his special cheese that he buys, you decide to buy it too.
I mean you want That kind of excitement. So of course you need it too!
You are behind of your electric bill this month.
But you spend the money anyway.
You are proud as you eat the first bite. You wait for the fulfillment to come, yet you realize the cheese was just as dull as you recalled it to be the first time. Thoughts of your electric bill come to mind…
And all the sudden every ounce of the happiness around the cheese has dissipated.
Now you are left with expensive cheese and bills that will be extra late.
Moral of the story:
Stop chasing other’s happy cheese.
Focus on the necessities and hard work that will give you guilt-free enjoyment first. Then embrace whatever it is that brings you joy. Then give back to the world beyond yourself.
