All of it comes down to so much more than the numbers. Let me explain.
“Would you categorize yourself as a rich person?” This is a question I’ve been asking friends, family, and clients for the past few months.
95% of people had the same answer.
They answered in one way or another.
“No, I don’t feel rich.”
The wild part is that their answer had nothing to do with the numbers. I know this because the socioeconomic background of the parties asked varied by the hundred of thousands in income variation.
Now before you read this story with judgement, know that we are all on our own journey.
For many of us prioritizing money, money attraction, and money management is a tool to be learned.
And that’s okay.
I once knew this woman who had a beautiful soul inside and out.
But when it came to money management there was always a lack. A lack of security, a lack of food, and a lack of joy around what she had. It was a painful process to behold.
The amount of stress was all consuming at times.
At this time in my life, I truly thought her struggle was about her lack of money.
You see, I had heard about money mindset and all that jazz, but at the time I believed it to be a concept only the wealthiest had the luxury of comprehending.
But I was hitting the point in my life where I was starting to make the shift in my own life.
But things really solidified when this happened.
The woman who was beautiful inside and out that was overridden with money stress told me about a life changing self improvement course she invested in. I was excited for her and cheered her on. She mentioned that I should take the course too. So I asked the obvious question.
“How much does it cost?”
The number with multiple zeros that came out of her mouth shocked me.
What shocked me even more was that she had already paid for it!
This woman. The woman who could barely afford to feed herself had some how come up with the money to pay for what she wanted.
I was draw dropped. I was impressed, uncomfortable, and inspired.
This was the first time I was able to behold the true power a person holds over their money.
You will buy what you value.
Buying is more than just a physical transaction.
It extends to your emotion and spiritual compasses as well.
