We All Carry Something

All true stories of people I know personally:

My friend hid on the floor to protect himself from the shooter as he watched his best friend shot to death.

Do you know where he was less than a few months later?

Sitting in class with his middle school classmates.

She was brutally raped in her home by a stranger and do you know where she was the day after?

At Target buying gloves to keep her kids warm.
He had a stroke while overseas and had to be emergency flown back to the U.S. While he was still working to gain his ability to speak, can you guess what he was doing at night?

Rewriting and sending out his resume so he could work to feed his wife and daughter.

It’s easy to judge people based on the exterior parts you see…

But believe me when I say,
there are people who carry unbelievable
pain in casual places.

So the next time you think to judge,
realize it’s a waste of your energy and that the person you are judging may be standing in his/her power simply by showing up today.

Let grace be.

And let the rest go.
