I’m a Wellness Strategist for action taking Women because I am one.
I understand what it’s like to be a smart, ambitious, purpose-driven woman in a demanding career field.
I’m a scientist by training.
When I went to college (a very, very long time ago), I thought I wanted to be a doctor.
I was a top student in my biology pre-med program. I crushed organic chemistry and destroyed animal physiology.
I took Physics 1 and Physics 2 at the same time, because… why not?
Then, I decided I was more passionate about prevention than I was about treatment.
So, I earned my Master’s degree in Exercise Science (a science-heavy program focused on using and creating peer reviewed research) and embarked on a 15 year career in wellness.
I worked in several prestigious facilities, working with professional athletes and celebrities, and teaching college exercise physiology. I even helped paralysis victims learn to walk again (and got filmed by CNN while doing it).
Oftentimes, I was one of a handful of women in my workplace because high-level Sport Science was male dominated.
After some life experience and a brush with an eating disorder (because I went crazy while trying to get my baby weight off), I decided most everybody in the fitness, nutrition and wellness industries has no idea what they’re doing – especially when it comes to career women with families.
Diets, exercise programs and weekend-certified health coaches are using cherry picked research, faulty philosophies and a poor understanding of how to use science in the real world.
Even worse, they’re not really focused on helping people succeed regardless of demanding jobs, little free time, tons of responsibilities AND crazy home lives (as a working mom of 3, I have firsthand experience with the chaotic dumpster fire that parenthood can be).
That’s why so many women fail at even the most basic self care, let alone full blown diets.
Ultimately, women don’t blame the diet.
They think THEY are the problem – just not motivated enough, focused enough or disciplined enough.
Type A women are especially susceptible to blaming themselves, but you truly don’t deserve the blame…. and carrying that shame around is toxic for your mental health.
We need to put a HARD stop to the “Just Do It” culture surrounding caring for our bodies, because it’s not that simple.
And that’s why I teach a different way.
My unique methods get results because they’re rooted in peer reviewed research, psychology, exercise science, sociology, anthropology, women’s issues and **a solid dose of street smarts.**
My methods work particularly well for women in demanding career paths with purpose-driven lives.
My typical clients are doctors, lawyers, private practice therapists, scientists and entrepreneurs scaling businesses above the million dollar mark.
If you’re like most of my students, you believe there’s no time to take care of yourself and your life is just too chaotic. I totally get why you feel that way. I’m also so excited to help you get beyond that and have hope again, because this doesn’t have to be your life anymore.
I’d love to help you discover your exact roadmap to chaos-proof wellness, no matter how many hours you work or how many responsibilities you have at home.
